"I'm Ann Curry and I'm in for ... I guess, nobody this morning. Me, myself and I. I can't believe it. It's such a thrill ... I really feel like Cinderella. Ann Curry aka Cinderella," she said to viewers on Thursday morning's show.
Curry, who has been the newsreader for the program since 1997, took over for Meredith Vieira who left after five years to spend more time with her family. Co-host Matt Lauer called Curry's start "an exciting new chapter in the history of the show" and "a comfortable fit."
