At the Television Critics Association fall preview last month, Fox Broadcasting co-CEO Dana Walden announced that comedy superstar Amy Schumer would make a guest voiceover appearance on the season premiere of all three of the network's (fully) animated shows, Bob's Burgers, The Simpsons and Family Guy. At the time, Schumer's cross-show guest spot was mentioned almost in passing. But now that the premieres are almost upon us -- the three shows start their seventh, 29th and 15th seasons, respectively, on Sunday, Sept. 25th -- details have emerged for Schumer's involvement in The Simpsons and Bob's Burgers.

On The Simpsons, Schumer voices Mr. Burns' mother in flashbacks to the evil tycoon's childhood. In the episode, we learn a lot about what made Mr. Burns the way he is.

Mr. Burns agrees to help rebuild the Springfield Bowl amphitheater as part of the town's reconstruction efforts after it's destroyed by an accidental death ray. The Springfield Bowl was the site of a humiliating public trauma that happened to a young Charles Montgomery Burns, and he sees this as his opportunity to rectify the past.

She's a less significant part of the Bob's Burger's premiere. The episode mostly focuses on Louise Belcher, who is bedridden with the flu. She asks her mother Lin to bring her her favorite toy, but Lin botches the job and the toy ends up melted.

Schumer plays a customer at a toy store where the Belchers go to replace Louise's toy.

The season premiere of Family Guy was not made available to journalists, so her exact role remains to be seen.

Walden said that all three roles were conceived to be voiced by the same actress, but it's unclear why, because they're not connected in any way on Bob's Burgers and The Simpsons. Schumer's appearance on The Simpsons is more satisfying, as her character is more integrated into the plot and is a little bit funnier.

In both premieres, Schumer's part is very small. She recorded all of her parts over the phone in one day. Both episodes are very musical, and reportedly the Family Guy premiere will be a musical as well, but Schumer doesn't sing on Bob's Burgers or The Simpsons. Maybe Family Guy gets her to do it, and maybe Family Guy ties the appearances together. We'll just have to wait and see.

All three shows premiere on Sunday, Sept. 25 on Fox. Bob's Burgers bows at 7:30/6:30c, The Simpsons starts at 8/7c and Family Guy follows at 9/8c.
