American Idol: Who Was Sent Home?

The girls continued their domination on another American Idol elimination night Thursday, and the judges actually had to debate at length for once about whether or not to use their save. Did someone get sent home? Keep reading to find out.
Kicking off the night was a group performance from the Top 8 of Bob Seger's "Old Time Rock 'n' Roll," on which the ladies far surpassed the lonely trio of remaining guys. Other pre-elimination fluff included the finalists mentoring kids in a school; a phone message from Aretha Franklin complimenting Kree Harrison on her rendition of "Don't Play that Song" from Wednesday's show; and performances from Season 11 alum Colton Dixon, OneRepublic (feat. A belly-baring Katharine McPhee ) and judge Keith Urban.

Jimmy Iovine also delivered an assessment of Wednesday night's performances, saying of the disastrous group number from Burnell Taylor, Devin Velez and Lazaro Arbos: "I guess we have a new boy band in town, and this one's called Wrong Direction. This was terrible." Iovine predicted that Lazaro would be going home. Was he right? Let's get to the important stuff!

And the girls' domination continues. Though not undeserved, after last night. Burnell and Lazaro were eventually sent to join the safe group, with Devin singing for the judges' save. He opted to rehash Perry Como's "It's Impossible" (half in English, half in Spanish) and Mariah Carey wept throughout the entire performance — which, to be fair, was Devin's best performance of the season.

Perhaps her tears were because she knew this was Devin's final goodbye, because moments later, with the crowd chanting "Save," Randy Jackson said the judges would opt not to use the save on Devin.
