American Idolis down to its Top 7.

American Idol performance recap: Livin' in the '80s

In keeping with the totally '80s theme this week, we get treated to throwback Thursday pics of the judges from that decade. Apparently, there is such a thing as a belt buckle shaped like Australia! Thanks for that, Keith.

And here are the results:

BOTTOM 2

CJ
Malaya

Well, Sam gets another week to work on emoting. Good for him. Malaya has fallen to the bottom several times, so the writing may be on the Idol wall for her.
And yep, the teenaged tuba player, who's rocking a Cosby-esque sweater, is going home. She actually delivers a relatively composed swan song until her fellow contestants share the stage with her. Malaya was such a quirk-monster but has tons of potential. We feel this isn't the last we'll see of her.

Will you miss Malaya? Did the right singer go home?

American Idol airs Wednesdays at 8/7c and Thursdays at 9/8c.
