This... is American Idol. Online, that is.
For the first time ever, full episodes of the 13-year-old singing competition will be available online, Entertainment Weeklyreports.
Beginning Thursday with the launch of the second part of the Season 14 premiere, full episodes can be seen the day after their broadcast debut on AmericanIdol.com, FoxNow.com, and on Hulu Plus. Additionally, fans will be able to access episodes via Video-on-Demand services from DirectTV, Comcast and Time Warner Cable, among others.
15 reasons why you should still watch American Idol
In previous seasons, only clips of memorable performances and other watercooler moments were available online. In contrast, full episodes of The Voice have been available on NBC.com, Hulu and through Video-on-Demand for several seasons.
Idol, featuring returning coaches Jennifer Lopez, Harry Connick, Jr. and Keith Urban, opened to 11.2 million viewers and a 3.2 rating in the adults 18-49 demo on Wednesday.
