AMC Hopes to Keep Winning Streak with Political Thriller

Now that AMC has one of the most-buzzed-about dramas on TV, the network is looking to keep its Mad Men momentum going by ordering a new political thriller from Jason Horwitch, creator and executive producer of NBC's Medical Investigation.According to The Hollywood Reporter , the untitled project centers on a secret society that controls the world's political stage and a national think tank analyst who discovers his employers aren't who he once thought they were. And according to AMC execs, this isn't "your typical spy thriller," but rather a "world you have not seen on television before." So far, being picky with their pilots has paid off for the network, considering its first two, Mad Men and Breaking Bad were able to score a record-breaking 20 Emmy nods between the two shows. — Gina DiNunno
