Amanda Bynes' parents have reportedly filed for a conservatorship in the wake of her 5150 psychiatric hold, according to TMZ.com.

On Monday, the fire department responded to the home in the actress' hometown of Thousand Oaks, Calif., and found Bynes standing in the driveway next to a fire. The sheriff's department arrived on scene and questioned the actress about her actions and intentions. Based on her answers, they decided she needed to be hospitalized on a 5150 hold, which allows for involuntary hospitalization for mental evaluation for up to 72 hours.

Timeline: Amanda Bynes' increasingly erratic behavior

According to the site, Bynes may be suffering from a mental illness with schizophrenic tendencies. She had allegedly been lucid for the early hours she was under the 5150, but she then got restless, erratic and paranoid.

The conservatorship would give Bynes' parents the authority to make decisions in the best interest of their daughter. A hearing is expected for Friday. Bynes isn't the only young celebrity to go through this. In 2008, Britney Spears was held under a 5150 hold after locking herself in a bathroom with her son Jayden. She was ultimately placed in a psych ward, lost custody of her two sons, and her father was granted conservatorship, which remains in effect today.

The news is the latest in Bynes' erratic behavior, which is documented here.
