Get ready for your new sci-fi obsession, kids! Here's your first look at the extended promo for Almost Human, which Fox will debut Sunday's Family Guy premiere (9/8c). The buddy-cop-with-a-twist series is the brainchild of J.J. Abrams and Fringe vet Joel Wyman. Starring Star Trek's Karl Urban and Common Law 's Michael Ealy, and set in the year 2048, Human tells the story of John Kennex (Urban), a human detective who's paired with a synthetic sidekick named Dorian (Ealy) after an ambush kills his entire crew.

And while Wyman confirms that Human is indeed a procedural, he assures us that the futuristic setting and some seriously kick-ass tech keeps this from becoming a cookie-cutter crime show: "It's just rich with possibilities to tell stories through the scope you've never seen before." As you can see from the clip below, there is also a healthy dose of action, humor and far-from-artificial intelligence.
Almost Human premieres Monday, Nov. 4 at 8/7c on Fox.
