Despite what the public might think, Alicia Silverstone does not regret feeding her son bird-style.
"I can understand that it would make some people feel uncomfortable, possibly, because it's new to them," Silverstone told Entertainment Tonight last week. "But I do want to let you know that this has been going on for thousands of years — still going on all over the place — and it's natural."Clueless star caused an uproar last month after she posted a video on her website, The Kind Life, in which she pre-chewed food before feeding it mouth to mouth to her son, Bear, who turns 1 on May 5. While many were grossed out, others were concerned about whether the method was hygienic. "It's a part of the weaning process, so while I'm still breastfeeding it's just a way to introduce him to food when he doesn't have teeth ... and he can't chew," Silverstone says. The actress, who's been married to radio host Christopher Jarecki since 2005, says she didn't "expect [the video] to do what it did," but is happy she uploaded it."I've had nothing but great feedback," she says. "I think it's more like the media makes it ... maybe more sensational than it is."
