The TV series Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Kyle Richards has been working on, about her mother's Hollywood life in the 70s, is coming to fruition thanks to TV Land. The Viacom-owned network ordered American Woman to series with Alicia Silverstone (Clueless) set to star, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Silverstone will play Bonnie Nolan, a single mom with two daughters trying to make her way in Hollywood after leaving her husband. Together with her two best friends, Kathleen (Mena Suvari) and Diana (Jennifer Bartels), the women will tackle Tinseltown and will "discover their own brand of independence in a world reluctant to give it."
Those are heavy-hitting names for a show that most Real Housewives fans will recognize as the catalyst for a bunch of drama between Richards and her older half-sister (and mother to Paris and Nicky Hilton) Kathy Hilton. Hilton was against the show being made, which makes it more conspicuous that Bonnie has two daughters, ostensibly Kyle and her younger sister Kim, instead of three children to include the eldest daughter.
American Woman is slated to premiere in 2017. Are you going to tune in?
