There's plenty of surprises in store when Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. returns in February: Deathlok and Lorelei are coming to town!
Die-hard Marvel comic fans may have already figured this out — what with Mike Peterson (J. August Richards) losing his leg and gaining the high-tech eye — but he will soon be transformed into the infamous cyborg Deathlok, S.H.I.E.L.D. executive producer Jeph Loeb told reporters on the set of the ABC series Thursday. Deathlok will make his first appearance on S.H.I.E.L.D.'s Feb. 4 episode.
"There's an awful lot of enhancements that he'll have. His speed, his strength and he's well-known for his cybernetic eye," Loeb said, noting that the writers have been planning Mike's transformation from the beginning of the series. "We first introduced the idea of the eye in Episode 4, so if you've been watching along the way, we've been leaving breadcrumbs for you to follow."
As previously announced, Thor's Lady Sif (Jaimie Alexander) will pop up in an upcoming episode of S.H.I.E.L.D. and now we finally know why! "She's here to hunt down another Marvel character," Loeb said of Marvel villain Lorelei (Elena Satine, who played Mera on Smallville). "Lorelei is from Asgard. She's a beautiful redhead who has the ability to sway men's minds. She has this in her own unique way of speaking."
Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. returns Tuesday, Feb. 4 at 8/7c on ABC. Are you excited to see Deathlok and Lorelei?
