Move over, Taylor Swift. Another diva has usurped your pop throne.

Adele's latest album 25 has hit a major record in its first week of sales.

Since its release on Nov. 20, the album has sold a lofty 3.38 million copies, according to Billboard. The record-setting number marks the biggest week for an album since sales started being tracked in 1991, and also makes 25 the first album to sell more than 3 million copies in just one week.

Adele previously smashed the record for single-week sales held by *NSYNC's No Strings Attached, which was released in 2000. Lance Bass graciously offered Adele the band's congratulations when she topped their record.

For comparison, 25 has already leapt past Taylor Swift's 1989, which sold 1.287 million copies in its first week.
