Paris Hilton's 45-day jail sentence, if served at all, could be dramatically shortened due in part to overcrowding in the Los Angeles County penal system. "Our jail is bursting at the seams," to the point that some women inmates have been released after serving but 10 percent of their sentence, a sheriff-department spokesperson tells the Associated Press. Factoring in the current jail population, Paris might serve 21 to 23 days - or less. Says the spokesman, "It's a complicated formula that the state sets down."
