ABC'S WOODRUFF HAS "A LONG ROAD" AHEAD

A day after they were seriously injured in a roadside bomb blast in Iraq, ABC World News Tonight anchor Bob Woodruff and cameraman Doug Vogt were showing "some signs of improvement," the network said in a statement. "The signs are good, and we are very optimistic," doctors tell ABC News. "They still have a long road to recovery. They've taken baby steps but [reached] very important milestones." Woodruff and Vogt, due to arrive in Washington, D.C., on Tuesday, will be transported to Bethesda Naval Hospital in Maryland for further treatment.
