David Krumholtz, star of ABC's new fall comedy The Trouble With Normal (Fridays, 8:30 pm/ET), is breaking his silence about a personal crisis that nearly drove him mad. The actor reveals that he has been cursed by his neighbor — a real-life voodoo priestess! "She tries to put voodoo curses on me," says the 24-year-old. "She's made me pretty paranoid about it. I can't believe I'm telling this story."

Krumholtz (Liberty Heights, 10 Things I Hate About You) says things got off to a bad start when he first moved into his New York City apartment building four years ago and started playing his stereo at high volume. It wasn't long before the elderly Haitian woman started banging on the wall and yelling at him.

"I started going around telling everyone in the building how crazy she was, and I think that fueled her fire," he says. One morning, he awoke to discover in the hallway a ceremonial voodoo altar — complete with a chicken bone.

Luckily for Krumholtz, things calmed down once the two of them got better acquainted. "She's a little nicer to me," he says. "She doesn't scream 'Help!' when she sees me in the hallway anymore, which is a nice thing."
