ABC News has apologized for broadcasting live coverage outside of Robin Williams' home following his death.
"When we realized there was no news value to the livestream, we took it down immediately," ABC News told Hollywood Reporter in a statement. "Our intention was not to be insensitive to his family, friends and fans, and for that we apologize."
On Monday night, Hollywood and fans were stunned to learn that Williams allegedly took his own life. ABC News then posted a livestream on its website outside of Williams' Tiburon, Calif., home, but immediately received backlash from fans, who noted that his family had asked for privacy. The stream was taken down within an hour.
Do you think that ABC News' livestream was insensitive?
