In the comedy, Arrested Development's Portia de Rossi stars as a brilliant and successful woman who begrudgingly ends up working for her ditzy beauty queen sister Candy (Malin Akerman), who is now a big-city mayor. Arquette will play Candy's husband, Buddy, an easy-going family man and people person. As previously announced, Jean Smart will also star.
Best-known for his role in the Screamfranchise, Arquette's TV credits include Pushing Daisies, My Name Is Earl and Friends. He also placed sixth in the 13th season of Dancing with the Stars.
Don Todd will write and executive-produce alongside Ellen DeGeneres.
