It's official — Abby Elliott will not be returning to Saturday Night Live.
Elliott, the daughter of former SNL cast member Chris Elliott, is leaving the sketch show after four seasons, Splitsider reports. The announcement comes after stars Kristen Wiig and Andy Samberg said their goodbyes on last season's finale.
Is Abby Elliott departing Saturday Night Live?
Elliott first hinted that she might not be returning for SNL's 38th season in February, when she was cast as the female lead in the pilot of the new Fox comedy Ben and Kate (back when it was called Ben Fox is My Manny), but the part was later recast with Dakota Johnson.
With three big names definitely leaving (and Jason Sudeikis also reportedly considering an exit), NBC is expected to add new cast members for the upcoming season of SNL. Returning to the show are regulars Seth Meyers, Bill Hader, Fred Armisen, Kenan Thompson, Nasim Pedrad and Bobby Moynihan, as well as featured players Kate McKinnon, Jay Pharoah, Vanessa Bayer and Taran Killam.
Elliott's impersonations on the show targeted celebrities like Meryl Streep, Rachel Maddow and Angelina Jolie.
