Wesley Snipes Can't Jump Legal Hurdles

Wesley Snipes by Jeffrey Mayer/WireImage.com

Two years after being indicted, Wesley Snipes was acquitted on Feb. 1 of federal tax fraud and conspiracy, but convicted on three misdemeanor counts of failing to file a tax return.

Snipes, along with two codefendants, was originally charged with six counts of failing to pay taxes from 1999-2004 - aka the same years in which he signed contracts for more than $10 million for Blade sequels. Despite his acquittal on three counts of fraud, he still faces those remaining misdemeanor convictions, which entail a possible three years in jail. If Snipes does have to serve time, however, he'll have to get used to standing up for himself without a vampire cape. - Anna Dimond
