The Usual Suspects' Writer Developing Mystery Series

The Usual Suspects writer Christopher McQuarrie is bringing his mysterious ways to the small screen. The Oscar winner has partnered with Fox TV Studios and Mexican distributor Televisa to make his first series, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Persons Unknown will focus on seven strangers - four of whom will be played by Alan Ruck, Chadwick Boseman, Gerald Kyd and Kate Lang Johnson - who one day wake up in a deserted town with no memory of how they got there. The gang later realizes their every movement is being caught on security tape and they must band together to figure out what's going on.

The show will start filming the first of 13 episodes in Mexico on Oct. 27. Once complete, the series will be shopped to U.S. networks. Televisa will air Persons in Mexico. Fox is is also in negotiations with an Italian broadcaster.

McQuarrie will executive produce the show with his wife and producing partner Heather McQuarrie and showrunner Remi Aubuchon. - Joyce Eng
