Tatum O'Neal is "sorry" to hear about the recent arrests of her father and half-brother for drug possession, her rep told TVGuide.com.

"Addiction, if untreated, can lead to jail, institutions and death," the actress said in a statement. "I love them both and I am sorry to hear about this."

Ryan O'Neal, 67, and Redmond O'Neal, 23, were arrested Wednesday morning at their Malibu home after authorities discovered what they believed to be methamphetamines in the elder O'Neal's bedroom. The actor's lawyer claims the drugs do not belong to Ryan O'Neal.

The men have both since been released on $10,000 bail each.
