CBS' eight-year-old Survivor franchise is finally going hi-def, when it launches its 17th edition this fall. " Survivor's locations and natural elements have always served as another character in the show and an important part of the competition," Ghen Maynard, executive VP of alternative programming at CBS Paramount, said in making the announcement.
