Sunday, Monday...Happy Days

Thanksgiving is upon us, which means it's time to update my nightly viewing schedule. I record plenty of stuff, but these are the shows that I try to watch live.

MONDAYS:

8 pm/ET Deal or No Deal (NBC)
As a student of Jeopardy! and The Price is Right, every logical fiber of my being tells me I should be repulsed by this brainless show. Yet I cannot stop watching, and actually look forward to it. Well done, Howie and crew.

9 pm/ET Heroes (NBC)
The only thing I'm tired of hearing is "Save the Cheerleader, Save the World." Can't wait to see how Peter gets a scar on his face.

10 pm/ET CSI: Miami (CBS)
I'll take Caruso's emoting over Sorkin's pontificating.

TUESDAYS:

8 pm/ET Friday Night Lights (NBC)
Dancing with the Stars is gone and Idol is coming. In the meantime, I'll watch some fake football.

9 pm/ET House (FOX)
Great acting, good stories, and plenty of crotchetiness. Easily the best show of the night.

10 pm/ET Nip/Tuck (FX)
Yeah, it jumped the shark with the Carver, but it's still interesting to see what the docs can get away with.

WEDNESDAYS:

8 pm/ET Jericho (CBS)
This post-nuke drama is holding up well. I'd take credit for predicting its success, but I also said Kidnapped would be a hit. Go figure.

9 pm/ET Criminal Minds (CBS)
While Lost finds its way on hiatus it's time to find out how Mandy Patinkin and crew win this time slot every week.

10 pm/ET South Park (Comedy Central)
It's actually gotten better this season. Guaranteed laughs.

THURSDAYS:

8 pm/ET My Name Is Earl/ The Office (NBC)
Survivor is on the TiVo and Ugly Betty just isn't for me. Earl is slipping a bit, but The Office is the best comedy on TV right now.

9 pm/ET 30 Rock/ Scrubs (NBC)
I'm the guy who doesn't need to see McSteamy or Gil Grissom live at 9. Alec Baldwin is perfect in the uneven 30 Rock, and Scrubs makes me laugh all the time.

10 pm/ET Shark (CBS)
The title says I have to watch, and James Woods devours the screen.

FRIDAYS:

8 pm/ET Ghost Whisperer (CBS)
I really don't watch much on Friday at 8, but I want to be on Jennifer Love Hewitt's good side.

9 pm/ET Battlestar Galactica (SCI FI)
Next to The Wire, the best drama on TV. No joke.

10 pm/ET Law & Order (NBC)
It doesn't have to be old to be a classic, and this formula never spoils.

SATURDAYS:

The networks are mailing it in, and so am I. TiVo catch up night.

SUNDAYS:

7 pm/ET 60 Minutes (CBS)
See my Law & Order blurb. Rest in peace, Ed Bradley.

8 pm/ET The Simpsons (FOX)/ The Amazing Race (CBS)
Thirty minutes in Springfield, and then a half hour of following Phil Keoghan around the world. I wish Family Guy was on at 8:30 instead of 9.

9 pm/ET The Wire (HBO)
As good as television gets.

10 pm/ET Dexter (Showtime)
Showtime comes through with an original creepy serial killer show. Well done.

That's my schedule. Tell me, what am I missing?
