Springsteen Born to Run Super Bowl Halftime Show

Bruce Springsteen by Joseph Quever/Backstreets

The Boss is heading to the Super Bowl.

Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band have been tapped to headline the Super Bowl XLIII halftime show next year, Reuters reports.

Springsteen and the boys are the latest oldies but goodies to take to the Super Bowl stage since Janet Jackson and Justin Timberlake's infamous 2004 wardrobe malfunction. Since then, the ever-cautious NFL and network executives have enlisted the esteemed and fully clothed acts of rock 'n' roll gods, such as U2, Paul McCartney, the Rolling Stones and, this year, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers.

The big show, er, game will go down Feb. 1 at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa.
