In a move Richard Hatch would be proud of, CBS has scheduled Survivor: The Australian Outback on Thursdays at 8 pm/ET opposite NBC's Friends. The eagerly anticipated follow-up will debut in its new timeslot on Feb. 1, after making its premiere on Jan. 28 following the Super Bowl. The show will air twice on Wednesday night — on March 14 and March 21 — due to the NCAA basketball tournament. For its part, the Peacock network insisted Monday that its feathers weren't ruffled by the announcement. "We are confident that Friends and our other Must-See TV Thursday series will rise to the challenge of facing increased competition," read an NBC statement. (In other words, the gloves are off!)
