has a confession to make: The 6-foot-plus drag queen says he has a major crush on Third Watch
hunk Eddie Cibrian
Ru, who co-stars with Cibrian in the new movie But I'm a Cheerleader, tells TV Guide Online he first developed an eye for the actor when he first saw him on the soap opera Sunset Beach. "A year before I did this movie, I got addicted to Sunset Beach," says Ru, who plays a counselor at a center that tries to make gays go straight in the satirical pic. What went through Ru's mind when he finally met Cibrian on the set? "I wish that [our characters] could have gotten it on!"
Even though RuPaul resonates positive energy, that hasn't always been the case. A few years ago, he and comedy legend Milton Berle traded barbs at an MTV awards show. But Ru assures us those days are far behind him.
"The biggest misconception about me is that I'm bitchy," he says. "I don't do bitchy. I do sassy. I would never
maliciously hurt somebody's feelings to cut them down. I've done it a few times in the public eye when pushed into a corner. Milton Berle! He had been really awful to me backstage. I was violated. When we got back together [onstage], I had my box cutter ready ? my tongue."
Thanks to the wonders of therapy, RuPaul is a changed man. "I've learned to let it all hang out and not be afraid. Going to L.A. and getting in touch with what I'd run away from has helped me to understand that I don't have anything
to fear. I'm never going to be vulnerable to the point where anyone can hurt me again."
