Rapper Xzibit's Baby Son Dies

Rapper Xzibit has revealed that his 11-day-old son, Xavier Kingston Joiner, died on May 26. Xzibit wrote about his son's passing on his official MySpace blog, saying "[Xavier's] lungs were not strong enough to handle regular oxygen on his own."

Though the baby was born prematurely, Xzibit had spoken optimistically about his chances of survival. Now that his son is gone, the rapper urges people reading his blog to cherish every moment with their children, saying "Hold on to your kids, if you have them. Protect them and show them you love them everyday you wake up and see them."

Xzibit will be starring alongside David Duchovny, Gillian Anderson and Amanda Peet in this summer's The X-Files: I Want to Believe. He'll also be contributing a song, "Dyin' 2 Live," to the film's soundtrack. - Erin Fox
