ROCK SPEAKS ABOUT EMMY MISHAP

Chris Rock is speaking out about an Emmy Award snafu that resulted in his HBO comedy special inadvertently being left off of the ballot. Chris Rock: Bigger and Blacker, nominated for six Emmys, was missing from the Outstanding Variety, Music or Comedy Special category when ballots were mailed out to voters. "That's one of the things where mistakes are always against you," Rock tells TV Guide Online. "My name could have been on the ballot four times. There's nothing I can do about it. These things happen." The Academy says replacement tickets have been mailed out to voters. Is the comedian, who can been seen in the upcoming dark comedy Nurse Betty, confident that the problem has been rectified? "We'll see what happens," he says. "I've been on a good streak so I can't even bitch and say, '[Why did it] happen to me?!' " The Emmy Awards will be handed out on Sept. 10 in an ABC telecast. Creative arts Emmys were awarded on Saturday; see related story below.
