Today executive producer Jeff Zucker will take over as president of NBC's entertainment division in January, replacing the embattled Garth Ancier. Zucker — who has been with NBC for 14 years in different capacities — has served as Today's top dog since 1994, during which time the show has enjoyed record ratings and generated huge profits for the network. "This next step I am taking may well prove to be my greatest challenge yet at NBC," Zucker says. "I am tremendously proud of all that I have accomplished with the staff at Today, but I feel like the time is right for this next chapter of my career." NBC West Coast President Scott Sassa says that he hopes Ancier will stick around in a "significant capacity," but he did not elaborate on what that meant.
