Madagascar Penguins Suit Up for New Kids' Series

Madagascar courtesy DreamWorks

Those scene-stealing birds from Madagascar have rated their own TV series. Nickelodeon has picked up 26 half-hour episodes of The Penguins of Madagascar, in which the tuxedoed critters of the Central Park Zoo (mistakenly, i assume) go about believing that they are members of an elite strike force. "The DreamWorks animation team developed richly creative characters that... are just plain hysterical," Nick prez Cyma Zarghami notes. "We can't wait to treat our audience to the same vibrant and vivid animation."

Penguins is expected to take nonflight in early 2009.
