In the latest chapter of an ongoing feud, three Mexican bands are returning the Latin Grammys they won earlier this month citing offensive treatment of the Mexican music community by the sponsor, the Latin Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences. According to the Los Angeles Times, Los Tigres del Norte, Los Temerarios and Los Palominos have refused their statues. They allege that the academy ignores Mexican regional music — including tejano, ranchera and norteño — in favor of stars associated with Sony Music and producer Emilio Estefan.
