MORE L. RON HUBBUB

Kirstie Alley says, "Shame on you" to Rolling Stone's recent exposé on Scientology. In a letter obtained by the New York Daily News, Alley rails at the music bible for "religion-bashing for the sake of sales," adding, "Your cool factor just dropped to Reader's Digest [level]." (Ouch.) Janet Reitman, who invested nine months of research into her 13,500-word report (and who took direct hits elsewhere in Alley's missive), says the letter "exemplifies why the Church of Scientology has an image problem — rather than debate points of substance, its followers all too often veer into personal attacks." Or beat up on poor South Park.
