Ken Ehrlich Back for Emmys' 60th Anniversary
is returning to executive-produce the 2008
Primetime Emmy Awards
. The 60th-annual event will be broadcast Sept. 21 (8 pm/ET) on ABC.
Ehrlich is a master of the genre who, it seems, will add a little spice to proceedings. Among his many credits, he produced several of the recent Emmys - including the 50th anniversary show - and 28 Grammy Award shows, plus he created and produced the MTV movie awards.
The show is moving venues this year from the Shrine to the uber-modern Nokia Center in downtown L.A., allowing for new styles and sets to appear. Ehrlich said, "We... have a number of surprises in the works that will certainly make this a memorable Emmy broadcast. Doing the event from the new Nokia Theatre... provides an opportunity to give the show a new and fresh look, and we are already hard at work with our designers to accomplish that and more."
And while the Emmy Awards might seem like a long time away, the nominations are coming up July 17. This gives us plenty of time to come up with some suggestions for Ehrlich. Personally, I would start with adding creative dance interpretations of every nominated prime-time comedy. How 'bout you?
