Contrary to previous reports, the heart attack suffered by
Kelsey Grammer last month was not mild - it nearly killed the veteran sitcom star.
In an interview with
Entertainment Tonight, Grammer acknowledges that the "surprise" cancellation of his Fox show
Back to You contributed to his health woes.
Grammer says that his heart stopped and had to be shocked back into rhythm. "As I lay there dying, I said, 'Please, I cannot do this. I don't want to see anything; I don't want to see any light.'"
The actor, who has two of the most successful sitcoms in history to his credit (
Frasier and
Cheers), says he's "doing fine." -
