Judge Tosses Lawsuit Against Housewives' Hatcher

Teri Hatcher by Steve Granitz/ WireImage.com

A Los Angeles judge has thrown out a $2 million-plus lawsuit against Desperate Housewife Teri Hatcher, redirecting the case to arbitration. Hydroderm, a cosmetics company that makes, among other products, a volumizing lip serum, claims that Hatcher violated a non-compete clause in her 2005 agreement with them by also lending her image to CityLips, a competing lip-plumping product. "Hatcher's name, image and likeness have been linked to so many competitors' products," the lawsuit said, "that it is anyone's guess as to what product keeps her skin and lips youthful."

Hatcher's attorney Alan Wertheimer counters that her deal with Hydroderm had no bearing on other endorsement deals, and that the lawsuit was an "unjustified and public assault on Teri Hatcher's good name, reputation and celebrity." Nice kiss-off, Alan! - Mickey O'Connor
