Regrettably, Christian Kane's favorite moment with Angelina Jolie in the just-released romantic comedy Life or Something Like It didn't make it on the final reel. "We had one small kissing scene that got cut out of the movie," the 27-year-old actor laments to TV Guide Online. "I'm pretty pissed — and you can quote me on that!"

So, are Jolie's lips as luscious as they appear? "I don't want to talk too much about the kiss, because it wasn't that big [a deal]," he says, "but [her lips] are even better in person."

In Life, Kane — best known as David Boreanaz's onetime nemesis on Angel — plays Cal Cooper, a second baseman for the Seattle Mariners who scores with Jolie's newswoman character "because they make each other look good," he explains. "And then, of course, Ed Burns steps up — which doesn't help Cal's life at all."

Off-screen, Kane discovered that Billy Bob Thornton and Jolie's brother Jamie aren't the Oscar winner's only true crushes. "She really loves her fans," he says. "Not a lot of people know this about Angie, because everyone thinks of her as this character they see on the news and in magazines, but we'd work 14-hour days and she would take time to go across the street for 25-30 minutes and sign autographs for fans. Not a lot of people do that.

"She's a sweetheart," he adds. "She's probably one of the nicest people I have ever met in my life."

Next up for the Texas native: A role in the Brittany Murphy-Ashton Kutcher comedy Just Married (out in 2003); a possible record deal for his Southern rock band Kane; and if he has it his way, a return trip to Angel — where hopefully he'll finally get some action.

"I never get the girl," he sighs. "In Life or Something Like It, Angel and now, Just Married, I don't get the girl. A lot of people want to win an Academy Award, I just want to get the girl."
