Howard the Duck Creator Steve Gerber Dead at 60

Steve Gerber, creator of the Howard the Duck comic books and the 1980s animated series Thundarr the Barbarian, has died at age 60. Gerber had been suffering form pulmonary fibrosis.

Gerber was best known for Marvel's Howard series, but he also cocreated the company's Omega the Unknown. Later, he worked as a story editor on such TV projects as G.I. Joe and Dungeons & Dragons. His most recent project was Hard Times, for DC Comics. - Anna Dimond
