David Kohan and
Max Mutchnick are joining the post-strike rush of pilot orders with their greenlit comedy for ABC.
The as-yet-unnamed show (which was written on spec prior to the strike), features two best friends and biz partners - one straight, one gay - who have to navigate their relationship when they each find romantic partners at the same time. The comedy's likely inspired in part by the writers' real friendship and longtime working relationship. In addition to
Will & Grace, the two have shared credits on
Four Kings and
Good Morning Miami, among others.
Although the pair also produced a pilot for CBS last year, the new one is unrelated, although thematically similar.
