Duuuude! The G4 Network is planning to capitalize on what they call "the cultural phenomenon of 420" with a day of stoner programs on April 20. (If you're behind on the "phenomenon,"
catch up here.)
To celebrate the day, the network plans to present several films and specials dedicated to the "culture, myths and latest trends" surrounding the smokers' holiday. The programming kicks off at 1 pm/ET with an airing of
Half Baked starring
Dave Chappelle. Also planned is a two-hour version of
Attack of the Show filmed in Jamaica, which features an interview with Ziggy Marley and other Rastafarians, a visit to Bob Marley's home, and a group of comprehensive reports on marijuana from Toronto, Vancouver, Los Angeles and San Francisco.
Other highlights from the day include
Code Monkeys: The Story of 420 guest-starring legendary pot icon
Tommy Chong, the Season 2 premiere of
The Block and
Reefee's Madhouse, a re-voiced, comedic interpretation of the cult classic
Reefer Madness.
Will you be vegging out on the couch for a day of debauchery, or do you think the network is over-glorifying illegal activity? -
