Funny or Die Enlists a Live Scribe

Comedy website FunnyorDie.com is really bringing out the big guns to head up its new programming development deal with HBO. Twelve-year Saturday Night Live vet Andrew Steele will be joining the site as creative director, overseeing the unconventionally formatted content for the pay-cable network, as well as churning out the website's widely popular original videos ala "The Landlord" or "God Cop, Bad Baby."

Funny or Die founders Will Ferrell and Adam McKay, who both worked with the SNL writer during their stints on the steadfast sketch-comedy series, told Variety that Steele was exactly who they were looking for to fill the position - especially since Ferrell finds him to be "one of the funniest people on the planet, not counting South America and parts of Russia." - Gina DiNunno
