Elizabeth Taylor Ends the Writers' Strike

Elizabeth Taylor by Steve Granitz/WireImage.com

At least for a couple of hours. According to the Hollywood Reporter, Elizabeth Taylor asked the Writers Guild to give up picketing at Paramount Pictures on Dec. 1 - World AIDS Day - when she gives a benefit performance of Love Letters opposite James Earl Jones, so that she and her guests could come in without feeling guilty. "[The Guild has] shown great humanity, empathy and courage by allowing our little evening to move forward," the Butterfield 8 knockout/original Mama Cassadine said in a statement. And I'm inclined to agree. Well, maybe not about the "courage" so much. But it was still a nice thing to do. - Ben Katner
