Dunkin' Donuts Pulls Ad Featuring Rachael Ray

The Boston Globe reports Dunkin' Donuts has yanked an online ad featuring Rachael Ray because of a scarf she wears in the spot.

Some viewers noted that the silk scarf - which features a black-and-white paisley design (check it out here) - resembled a keffiyeh, a headdress usually worn by Arab men.

At first, Dunkin' Donuts cast the complaints aside, but then Fox News commentator Michelle Malkin took matters one step further. In her syndicated column, Malkin claimed the keffiyeh symbolizes "murderous Palestinian jihad...popularized by Yasser Arafat and a regular adornment of Muslim terrorists."

Dunkin' Donuts then quickly pulled the ad, saying, "Absolutely no symbolism was intended. However, given the possibility of misperception, we are no longer using the commercial." - J.R. Whalen
