Dubya Says Thank Ya to American Idol Fans

Tuesday's American Idol cast not only featured Blake's truly can-I-get-that-at-iTunes-yet?-awesome take on Bon Jovi's "You Give Love a Bad Name" and a Simon-LaKisha smooch that surely had Don Imus bristling, but also an appearance by one President George W. Bush, who with First Lady Laura applauded the "Idol Gives Back" donations to children in need, which to date total almost $70 million. "We thank [you] who have shown the good heart of America," said Dubya in the pre-taped bit. "We thank all the celebrities who participated, and all the contestants who sang their hearts out."

In a similar vein, former president Clinton thanked his lucky stars that Antonella resurfaced in last night's audience.
