Eliza Dushku by Greg Gayne/Fox
Joss Whedon's Dollhouse, which stars Eliza Dushku, has shut down production, as first reported on Zap2it.com.

Don't panic. The shutdown, which was requested by Whedon himself, is temporary. "Joss had been directing, so he wanted a couple of weeks to write, catch up on some scripts," Chris Alexander, a spokesperson for Fox, the show's production company, told TVGuide.com.

Dollhouse will resume shooting on Sept. 25, and Alexander tells me that the shutdown won't affect the series' premiere date, which is still tentatively scheduled for January 2009. - Mickey O'Connor
