DJ AM has been discharged from Doctors Hospital in Augusta, Ga., a week after surviving a jet crash that killed four others.

"While he is deeply saddened by the events, he is thankful for all of the love and support he has been receiving from fans and friends worldwide," his rep said in a statement, People reports. "We ask that you continue to respect his privacy as he rests and heals and mourns the loss of his friends."

The 35-year-old, whose real name is Adam Goldstein, was being treated for serious burns he sustained from the Sept. 19 crash in South Carolina. DJ AM and Travis Barker, who is expected to be released in the next two weeks, People reports, were the sole survivors.

The pilot and co-pilot died from smoke inhalation and burns, while Chris Baker and Charles Still, Barker's assistant and bodyguard, respectively, died of impact from the crash. - Joyce Eng
