Christian Siriano Offers Hot Transsexual Apology

Christian Siriano is famous for his tagline, "hot tranny mess!". But his fierce talk has gotten the 22-year-old threadmeister into a hot mess of his own.
When asked why drag remains an "everlasting" part of gay culture, Siriano said in a recent
Time Out interview, "If you think of heterosexuals, they have white-trash women and trailer parks, and we have drag queens and trannies."
The comment drew outrage among some of his fans, says
People, and led Siriano, who is openly gay, to make an official apology. He said, "I mean no disrespect to the transgender population and I never will.... I completely support the fabulousness and amazing fashion inspiration that most transgender people provide."
Was Siriano out of line, no matter what his orientation might be? Or simply sounding off in his typical - some would say laughable - fashion?
