Cheryl Hines "Won't Name Names" on The Assistants

When
Cheryl Hines isn't fighting with
Larry David on
Curb Your Enthusiasm, she's digging up old memories from her days as a personal assistant for her new show,
The Assistants. The show is being developed by E! and a decision whether to make the pilot will occur in the next few weeks.
"I wrote it with my friend Julie Welch, and it's about personal assistants in Hollywood," Hines tells us at the HBO party in Los Angeles. "What will be so great about this show is that Julie and I have been gathering stories from personal assistants, and because [on the show] they're fictional characters we will use real stories. We won't name names, though. So you can imagine the stories from this town."
It turns out that some of the stories on her show may hit close to home. "I was an assistant once. I worked for
Rob Reiner and his family. I did sign a confidentiality agreement, though.... I need to call him," she says amid laughter. -
