Jim Caviezel and Ian McKellen are on board to star in The Prisoner, an update on the 1960s cult hit that will air as a six-part miniseries on AMC next year.

Caviezel will play the title role of "Number Six" and McKellen will costar as "Number Two."

The 1960s series - an espionage thriller set during the Cold War - is being updated with a focus on security and surveillance while retaining the franchise's trademark socio-economic commentary. - J.R. Whalen
