CHERI OTERI VERY MERRY
Cheri Oteri, who recently announced that she wasn't returning to
Saturday Night Live this season, is getting her own sitcom on CBS,
Variety reports. The actress, best known for her dead-on impersonations of
Barbara Walters,
Melissa Rivers and
Judge Judy, also reportedly was being courted by NBC and Fox. CBS has given the Oteri comedy a 13-episode commitment, and is hoping to have it ready for fall 2001. This has been a good summer for the former Spartan cheerleader. Her film
Scary Movie became the sleeper hit of the season and she received an Emmy nomination for her guest stint on
Just Shoot Me. (
