An ex-Playboy playmate and Guess? model, Anna Nicole Smith recently has been more famous as an oil billionaire's litigious widow, battling her stepson for family funds. Ever thirsty for attention "I love my paparazzi," she coos she's now seeking reality TV stardom. Watch your back, Ozzy!
"I'm doing it because I've been stuck in my house so long from the litigation," Smith told reporters while out promoting The Anna Nicole Show (debuting Aug. 4 at 10 pm/ET on E!). "I'm done with that. That's in my past. I want to go on with the future and have a good time."
Actually, attorney Howard K. Stern says Smith's case still is "in appeals right now." He's one of Anna Nicole's onscreen cast of characters, which also includes: Smith's 16-year-old son, Daniel; personal assistant Kim Walther; and beloved black poodle, Sugar Pie. Purple-haired Kim looks oddly like Kelly Osbourne. Even stranger, she sports a garish tattoo of her lady boss on her left arm.
"She's a great person," Kim shrugged, "and I just wanted to pay homage to her because she's so incredible." (Jeepers!)
Clearly The Anna Nicole Show is meant to be like MTV's The Osbournes, which Smith insists she's never seen. But things get rather sad when she is asked why she'd welcome TV cameras into her everyday life. What does she hope to show the public? "I have no idea," Smith replied dimly. "I don't know."
Whatever the show is about we figure E! is just banking on the surreal appeal of watching a train wreck Smith feels confident she's got a big fanbase of viewers. These comprise "a little bit of everybody. I have large women that love me, I have children..." Coyly, the Playboy vixen adds, "I also have college boys."
